Win big with Winnerz’s live poker games
Online casinos are welcoming more card games than ever as live-streamed games make a resurgence in such platforms. Since first introduced in the mid-’90s, live casinos continue to serve punters from anywhere in the world. From roulette to dice games, online casinos never fall short of the fun they can offer their patrons.
One of the best news that card game enthusiasts will receive regarding live casinos is the inclusion of poker as one of the games they can play at home. Of course, Winnerz is here to give you the most fun poker variations to play. In fact, our partnership with Evolution Gaming allowed us to offer you only the most enjoyable poker games around.
Shall we take a look at Winnerz’s live casino poker games, then?
Casino Hold’em
This poker variant is live-streamed from Riga, Latvia. This game is slightly different from the more popular Texas hold’em variation because you don’t have to compete against other players to win.
What makes Evolution Gaming’s Casino Hold’em different from other brands is its Jumbo 7 jackpot side bet which keeps on growing until a seven-card straight flush has been made. This means the initial jackpot prize of €1 million could grow up to €30 million.
Here’s how to play Casino Hold’em:
Rules
The objective in the game is to beat the dealer by creating the best possible hand ranking using the two cards dealt to you plus three out of the five shared cards set on the table. If you aren’t familiar with the different hand rankings, here are all of them along with its compositions:
- A royal straight flush consists of the five highest-valued cards—A, K, Q, J, and 10—all in the same suit. If you have this in your hand, you automatically win the round.
- A straight flush consists of a sequence of five consecutive cards belonging to the same suit, such as K, Q, J, 10, and 9, all diamonds.
- A four-of-a-kind consists of four cards of the same value plus one other card.
- A full house consists of a trio of cards of the same value plus a pair of cards of a different value, such as three 7s and two Js.
- A flush consists of five cards belonging to the same suit.
- A straight consists of a sequence of five consecutive cards.
- A three-of-a-kind consists of three cards of the same value plus two unique cards.
- A two-pair consists of two pairs of cards of the same value plus one unique card, such as two As, two 4s, and a J.
- A one-pair consists of a single pair of cards of the same value plus three unique cards.
- A high card consists of any other combination of five cards not included in the other hand rankings. Only the highest-valued card is considered in this hand ranking.
When playing Casino Hold’em, you need to place an ante to join the game. If you do, two cards will be given to you by the dealer. Other players and the dealer will also receive two cards, then the dealer will reveal the first three community cards on the table.
After this, you have the option to either call which means you will match your initial bet to continue playing or fold which means you will forfeit the round.
If you fail to choose after the time limit, the game considers it as an automatic fold. On the other hand, if you choose to call, a fourth community card will be revealed by the dealer and you will once again choose between call or fold. The final community card will be revealed if you choose to call again
If you are still in the game at this point, you may now use the five community cards plus your two hands to create the best possible hand ranking. After that, you will now compare your hand ranking with the dealer’s. Here are the rules on determining the winner:
- If the dealer doesn’t have a pair of 4s or higher in their hand ranking.
- If the dealer does have a pair of 4s or higher but you still have a higher hand ranking.
- If you and the dealer have the same hand ranking but have different sets of cards, the highest valued card will determine the winner. If it is still tied, the second highest valued card will be considered.
Note that if you and the dealer have the exact same hand, it is called a push. Neither you nor the dealer wins.
Tips to win
Of course, there are strategies you can use to win Casino Hold’em such as these:
- Always choose to call if you have an Ace or King in your hand.
- Choose to call if one of the community cards pairs with your hand.
- Play your hand if both cards are higher in value than the first three community cards.
- If the first three community cards have different suits and you have a Queen or Jack, choose to call.
Live 2 Hand Casino Hold’em
Rules
Live 2 Hand Casino Hold’em is a variation of Evolution Gaming’s Casino Hold’em game. The main difference of this game is that each player can play two hands while the dealer can only play one. This live casino poker game uses the same rules as Casino Hold’em.
The AA bonus bet can be won if you have a pair of aces in your hand. The payout for this depends on the hand ranking you may end up having. What’s good about this bet is that you still get paid even if you fold.
Tips to win
The strategies you use to win Live 2 Hand Casino Hold’em is just the same as the regular Casino Hold’em game. So, you better be familiar with the original version first before playing this game.
Side Bet City
Side Bet City was created for bettors who want to try a new poker variant. The objective in this game is simple: to bet on any of the three possible hand rankings created during the card dealing process or bet that no hand will win at all.
Rules
This game uses the standard 52-card deck and starts when players place their bet on any of these four options:
- 3-card hand, if the player thinks a winning poker hand ranking can be created from the first three cards dealt to them
- 5-card hand, if the player thinks a winning poker hand ranking can be created from the five cards dealt to them
- 7-card hand, if the player thinks a winning poker hand ranking can be created from all seven cards dealt to them
- All Lose, if the player thinks no winning poker hand ranking can be created from all seven cards dealt to them
The hand rankings used in this game are almost the same as regular poker:
- Royal straight flush
- Straight flush
- Four-of-a-kind
- Full house
- Flush
- Straight
- Three-of-a-kind
- Two pairs (only applicable on the 5-card hand)
- Pair JJ/AA, or a pair of Jacks or better (only applicable on the 5-card hand)
- Pair
Note that the 3-card hand only uses six of the given hand rankings on the previous list. Meanwhile, the 5-card hand does not include the pair in its paytable.
Once all bets have been settled, the dealer will first hand out three cards to the player to check for the 3-card hand. Then, the dealer gives two more cards to check the 5-card hand, and finally, two more cards to complete the 7-card hand.
Tips to win
Since Side Bet City is purely luck-based, the strategy you need for this game should be intended to minimise your losses instead of boosting your chances of winning. In this case, you have to take a look at the RTPs of each betting option:
- 3-card hand: 96.69%
- 5-card hand: 95.21%
- 7-card hand: 94.34%
- All Lose: 96.29%
If you want the best odds for this game, feel free to bet on the 3-card hand and/or the All Lose options.
Three Cards Poker
Three Cards Poker is another poker variation where you will be up against the dealer. However, you will only use the three cards you are dealt to try to win. However, do not fret because there are side bets unique to this game that can still pay you huge cash.
Rules
Three Cards Poker uses only six hand rankings:
- Straight flush
- Three-of-a-kind
- Straight
- Flush
- Pair
- High card
The game begins when all players place an ante or initial bet. The dealer gives them three cards each before keeping three for themselves. Players will then have the option to either call or fold.
Once all players have decided on their course of action, the dealer initiates the final showdown. All active players reveal their hands and whoever has the best hand ranking will be the winner.
Three Cards Poker has some consolation prizes for losing players if they manage to have any of the three best hand rankings in this game. These are called ante bonuses. Depending on the hand ranking each losing player has, they get paid back up to five times their ante.
Tips to win
There are two main strategies you can use when playing Three Cards Poker. If you are planning to play multiple rounds, avoid the side bets since the RTP of this game is already high enough at 96.63%. But if you want a quick game and you aim to win big, go for the side bets as they can be lucrative.
In terms of gameplay, just check your hand if it has 4 or higher. If there are, play them.
Caribbean Stud Poker
Caribbean Stud Poker is played just like Three Cards Poker but this game uses five cards instead of three. It also has the same objective of beating the dealer by having a better hand ranking than them. Evolution Gaming’s Caribbean Stud Poker has two available side bets which prove profitable for any confident punter.
Rules
Since Caribbean Stud Poker uses five cards for its hand rankings, the traditional poker hand ranking system will be used. Anyone interested to play must place an ante before being given their cards. The dealer will also have five cards in their hand with the first card revealed to all players. With this, players have the option to play their hand or fold.
All active players will reveal their hands in the final showdown so that a winner can be determined. The dealer can only join in the final showdown if they have an Ace and a King in their hand. Otherwise, all players get their ante back but the call bets remain on the table.
Each winning hand ranking has a corresponding payout, apart from the side bet bonus.
Tips to win
There are several ways to win Caribbean Stud Poker without having to rely on your side bets:
- Play your hand if you have a pair or higher. However, if the dealer’s face-up card is a King or an Ace and your pair is weaker, it’s best if you fold.
- This might be a bit risky, but try playing your hand if you have a Queen or Jack even when the dealer has an Ace or a King.
- This one is a bit specific, but try playing your card if the dealer’s face-up card doesn’t pair with any card in your hand, you have a Queen, and your fourth highest card is still higher than the dealer’s face-up card.
